Spotlight Gala 2019 – Be Inspired!
On Saturday November 2, 2019, Beck Center for the Arts will host our major fundraising gala, Spotlight, benefiting our mission to inspire, enrich, and transform lives through dynamic arts experiences. Every year, the gala draws nearly 300 people together to create an experience of celebration and partnership. We are excited to announce that Spotlight 2019 will be held in a new venue: Red Space, 2400 Superior, just north of Cleveland State University.
This year’s theme “Be Inspired!” highlights a part of our mission that we hold dear. We cherish the ability of the arts to provoke thoughts and feelings through experience and observation. Dance Education at Beck Center exemplifies this function, as it has had an immense impact on our community. This year our honorees are Lynda Sackett, founder of the dance program and outreach, teacher for over 50 years; Melanie Szucs, Associate Director of Dance, faculty member for over 35 years; and Betty Kemper, advocate and champion of our dance program. In show of our appreciation of our honorees, our guests at Spotlight will experience a night full of dance performances created and performed by our students.
