Development Intern
Position Information
Supervisor: Director of Development
Work Schedule/Hours: 10-15 Hours Per Week
Internship Duration: Internships should last at least 3 months and can be accommodated in the Summer, Fall, and Spring.
Description: Designed for creative, dedicated and innovative college undergraduate and graduate students seeking greater understanding and deeper knowledge of the management and operations of a non-profit arts center that houses both educational programming and a professional theater. The Development Intern will work directly with Beck Center staff on projects related to;
Scanning documents and letters into DP
Database clean up
Preparing cards to be signed by board members to donors
Making New Donor packets
Filing
Preparing Toolkit packets
Required Qualifications:
Detail oriented. Excellent research skills.
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently
Creative problem-solving
Well-organized, detail-oriented, self-starter
Preferred Qualifications:
Major in Marketing, Management, Small Business, Creative Arts (Music, Theater, Visual Arts, Dance).
Interest in arts administration/performing arts/arts education.
Familiarity with social media and online platforms.
Additional Information/Benefits:
Unpaid internship, with a small stipend, may be completed for college credit. Beck Center offers an excellent opportunity for students to obtain a broad range of skills in arts management including project management, customer service, organization, communication, and planning in a fun, flexible, and creative environment!

seminar series led by staff and guest speakers focusing on topics related to nonprofit administration, such as marketing, fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning. (Offered during summer session; during other periods individual meetings will be arranged)
