Facilities Technician
Position Information
Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
Hourly Rate: $12-14/hour
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician is responsible for maintenance, housekeeping, and security of all of the physical properties and grounds owned by Beck Center for the Arts. This includes performing various types of repairs and maintenance, implementing loss prevention and safety procedures, and general housekeeping. The Facilities Technician also directly interacts with patrons, students, and families, responding to emergency situations and providing a safe and physically comfortable environment for Beck Center programs and activities.
Essential Functions:
Perform housekeeping of all three buildings, including maintenance of floors, carpet care, cleaning and stocking restroom facilities, removal of all garbage, and quick/efficient cleaning between theatrical productions and other duties as required.
Perform various types of basic repairs and maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering and roofing as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Monitor temperatures in all buildings and make HVAC adjustments as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Monitor the safety systems of Beck Center and enforce all safety procedures and policies
Set-up and restore areas used for programs and activities, including turning on and off necessary lights, opening and locking all required doors, and setting up tables/chairs/equipment as needed.
Monitor interior and exterior areas of Beck Center and report to the Facilities Manager any worn, damaged, and unsafe conditions, responding promptly and proactively to any routine needs.
Maintain the grounds as needed, including snow removal, lawn mowing and landscaping.
Monitor all areas of the Center for debris and unsightly conditions. Immediately take action to remedy.
Maintain supply and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition.
Assist visitors/patrons to the Center with a professional attitude.
Maintain flexible schedule as required by activity in Beck Center, including evenings, weekends, and overtime.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
The employee spends considerable time actively moving around the campus, including stairs, ladders, and occasionally crawl-spaces. Must be able to utilize power tools, lawn mowers, snow-blowers, phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit; talk; or hear; and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:
Education: Vocational, trade school, or maintenance experience
Experience: All aspects of housekeeping and maintenance
Specific Skills/Knowledge: Floor care, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC
