Beck Center For The Arts Brings The Laughs With Bringing Down The House

Lakewood, OH-Beck Center for the Arts, home to one of the oldest continuously operating youth theater programs in the country, is excited to share the first production of the Youth Theater 2025-2026 season, Bringing Down The House. This meta production of a hysterical plot will literally bring down the house.

Sarah Clare, Associate Director of Theater Education shared, “We're so excited to share this 'show within a show' with our students and families this season. It's always fun to explore the frivolity and foibles of life in the theater, and to explore what theater is like when we pull back the curtain!"

BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, written by Todd Wallinger is directed by Russel Stich in our Senney Theater. Pioneer Drama Service. Running Friday, October 24, 2025, at 7:30 p.m, Saturday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with a Student Matinee on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Jules, Sydney, and Elliot have some big dreams. A team of young musical hopefuls books a creaky old theater to stage their show for big Broadway investors—only to discover the building is set for demolition the next day. With child actors, confused protestors, and a bumbling wrecking crew in the mix, it’s a race to save their dreams in just two hours. This show takes the saying “the show must go on” to a whole new level! A laugh-out-loud farce about resilience and the chaos of creation, directed by Beck Center’s own Russel Stich. This show is sure to bring down the house with laughter!

Beck Center for the Arts’ Youth Theater alumni include Michael Chernus (Orange Is the New Black; Manhattan; Severance); Dee Hoty (three-time Tony Nominee); Isabela Merced (Superman, Dora and the Lost City of Gold; Transformers: The Last Night); Rory O’Malley (Hamilton; Tony Nominee, Book of Mormon); and Daniel Reichard (Drama Desk Nominee, Jersey Boys).

Ticket prices are $15 Adult/Senior, and $13 Children/Student (ages 18 & under). Please purchase tickets at beckcenter.org, call 216.521.2540 or simply stop by Beck Center Customer Service in person. Tickets go on sale Monday, September 2, 2025 for most productions this season. Entire season lineup available at: beckcenter.org/youth-theater.
